Brand New Dixie Chopper 2010 3666 XCaliber Diesel

by Mr. & Mrs. Steven Nemeth
(Straffordville, Ontario, Canada)

We bought a brand new Dixie Chopper 2010 3666 XCaliber diesel industrial lawn mower and had the worst experience of our lives!

Here's what happened to us: We always had to cut the grass twice because it left huge strips of uncut grass no matter how slow you drove it or how short the grass was; the engine stalled out numerous times on level land with short grass; the engine stalled and couldn't be restarted; the mower quit multiple times and then wouldn't come back on at all; a hose clamp was loose; one of the fuel tanks had a leak and had to be replaced; one of the gauges always fogged up after the machine was washed; there was an anti-freeze leak at the rear of the machine; the radiator hose had two holes worn in it next to the the hydraulic pump; a bolt fell out on the PTO bracket on top of the engine; the three remaining bolts on the PTO bracket were ridiculously loose.

Thank goodness they didn't accept trades because we still had our seventeen year old John Deere to rely on when it took the dealer over a week to pick it up, attempt to fix it, and finally bring it back to us. A loaner machine would have been nice.

You get pretty upset, frustrated, and embarrassed when you pay out $14,900.00 plus taxes just to end up on your old lawn mower the majority of the time!

We thought we were going to save a huge amount of time when we bought the "world's fastest lawn mower", but instead got endless disappointment, sleepless nights, and anxiety from waiting for it to get fixed - and all at a big expense - $2,100.00!

Twenty-two point seven hours were put on the machine, one of which was on it when we bought it and then a couple of more the dealer put on it when he tried to fix it and tested it out on his own lawn. We were made guarantees numerous times from the dealer in Ontario that he would "make it right" and he even went so far as to promise that we would never have another problem with the machine.

The final straw was when the PTO bracket bolt fell out and the other three were loose. The dealer took back the machine with the 22.7 hours on it. Our money was eventually returned to us, minus $2,100.00!
