Dixie Chopper Xtreme

We bought our Dixie Chopper Xtreme 25th anniversary in summer of 2006. We are a homeowner with six acres of land. We believed in what the Dixie Chopper stood for.


After the 3 year warranty was up and we had paid for it in full, in 2009 the nightmare started. Out of warranty costs are high. Every year, it never starts and during the summer it breaks, even though we follow the instructions of what the manuals tell us to do to take care of it.

As of this spring, starts another year we can not start to mow our yard. Today, April 21, 2010, the repair person has been working on the mower for over 6 hours and still he can not fix it with new parts put into it. When I asked if we got stuck with a lemon he said yes we did.

When it runs, it is great when it is broken a few times a year it is expensive.

I would never recommend a Dixie Chopper to anyone. Be very careful.
