ExMark Quest 2008

by Stan Parks
(30161)

I bought this mower exactly a year ago. For the price, I am not satisfied. It does not cut grass very well REGARDLESS of how high it is. If it is taller grass, YOU WILL HAVE TO GO OVER IT THREE OR FOUR TIMES.

I have put new "Gator" blades on it and even tried going back to factory blades. It still leaves grass behind, even if I cut it very slow.

Build quality is pretty good. Mine has 108 hours on it. I have had to put a new spindle on it, and the muffler just fell off one day. The bolts didn't come loose---it just broke off close to the weld. It couldn't have been hit by anything because of where it's mounted. Just bad quality metal. This was covered under warranty however.

Although the deck doesn't cut very well, it is built like a tank. The welded deck is why I opted for this machine to begin with.

I have to say I would rather have my old piece of junk MTD back. It cut much better than the ExMark, and was far less than the $4800 I spent for this mower.

In conclusion, I would advise anybody buying a mower in this price range to "Demo" it first and see if it works for you. I am going to and remedy my problem. Maybe I'm doing somthing wrong. If so, I will write a follow up.
