Hustler Mini Fastrak/Model # 927366/Serial # 04071398 (42" Deck)

Homeowner

My husband bought the Fastrak in May 2008. He passed away in Dec of 2008. I am having a hard time taking care of it, however I love mowing with it.

My only complaint is it is rough riding. Is there anything I can do to help the rough riding?

Hustler ride improvement NEW
by: Anonymous

I have had a 42 in cut Hustler Sport for three years now. It rode like a barrel rolling down a rocky hill until I let air out of the tires. The air pressure recommended is entirely to high. I had problems with the rear tires spinning on damp grass as well as the rough ride. By putting in just enough air to keep the side walls from over flexing, the ride improves, and the traction on wet grass and in mud is much better. The only problem I have had was the fuel pump on the Briggs engine went bad and I had to replace it. $14.00 and change is pretty cheap mowing for five acres every four to six days for three years. Prior to this mower we owned two tractor type mowers, and with both my wife and I mowing with no breaks it took us about five and one half to six hours to mow. I can now mow our yard in two and one half hours if I don't take any breaks. I have used it to clear more yard, cutting up to one and one half inch sprouts with it.

Flex forks NEW
by: Anonymous

I have the 44" Fastrak and recently purchased FF. They are really sprung too harshly to do any good on that light mower. So I made a weight I bolted to the front of the mower weighing about 40# and it helped make them function.

I bought a second set, different specs, for a 52" mower with a heavy deck and frame and they work much better. I noticed that they ride smoother if you are moving at a 3 or so mph. Just creeping you still get jarred.

Other thing the seat has no springs. Why they didn't put springs on this seat baffles me. Even the cheapest mower at the big box store has springs on the seat!!!!!!

So I bought a suspension seat adapter and on a loose setting it helps but that was another $200 after I spent $200 on each set of FFs and now you are 2+inches higher in the air raising your CG which I liked being low.
