Hustler/Fastrak Super Duty 54/2009

Purchased new two weeks ago. This is one serious ZT mower, clearly built to last and handle tough terrain. The 25 hp twin cylinder Kawasaki just purrs at all speeds, and pulls like a mule when wide open.
I also own a 1982 25 hp Ford 1700 diesel tractor and a 60 inch bushog, which I've used for 15 years to help maintain my 8 acre property (partially landscaped, partially wooded, partially grazing pasture, and partially pond-bordered). Yesterday I burned my tractor's hydralics trying to haul my big bushog through some very overgrown pasture. So I fired up my Hustler to give it a try in some heavy grass/saplings. To my amazement, it blew my tractor/bushog completely away. One slow, five inch cut followed by one full-speed two inch overcut, and my pasture looks like a golf fairway. Wacked the pine and scrub saplings like toothpicks.
Also used the SD 54" to easily fine cut about 2.5 acres of manicured lawn and hiking trails through my woods....now both look like a putting green. Total elapsed time was 1.3 hours (usually a minimal three hour bumpy ordeal on my old 15 hp husqvarna riding mower).
I can't say enough about the Hustler SD 54. Check it out and then go look at the "comparable" ZT's such as Cub Cadet, Craftsman, Husqvarna, John Deere, etc. ....they're like toys compared to the Hustler. Even EXMARK has nothing comparable in the same size/power/equipment price range.
Unfortunately, the Fastrak SD is very expensive ($6099). But you clearly get what you pay for (including a 4 year residential warranty). This really is a commercial level machine which is truly awesome!!
