|Scag Turf Tiger||A||A||B||A||B+|
Although Ferris offers several ZTRs, I will give an overview of their ZTRs. Keep in mind, that some of their ZTRs do differ quite a bit.
Cut: Rating A-
This A- rating is based on their new ICD deck, which is a huge improvement over their old deck. This new deck is very similar to Scag’s Velocity deck. I would only recommend getting a Ferris with their new ICD deck.
Durability: Rating B+
This is a tough, well built ZTR. However, with the suspension, there are more moving parts. That could mean more to replace and maintain.
Handling and Balance: Rating A-
Ferris ZTRs handle very well. I give them a lot of credit for using suspension. Through the years, the suspension has gotten better and better.
Available Accessories: Rating B+
Ferris has a good selection of accessories. I would like to see them improve their mulch system just a bit.
Maintenance and Ingenuity: Rating A
Ferris is a very progressive company. They get an A because they are the only company that offers a full blown suspension system.
